Niles Rallies

Today is Monday, and I’m looking forward to another rally in Niles from 11:30-12:30. Standing on the sidewalk by the street, it is so much fun to cheer and wave at those going by. We have signs saying, “I voted for budget cuts.” “Stop Waste, Fraud and Abuse.” “Honk If You Love Maga.” And the honking, thumbs up, and cheering for President Trump and his team in response are as encouraging to us as we are uplifting to the passers-by. They are so glad to see happy, friendly people putting themselves out there for Trump and
our elected officials doing the jobs we elected them to do.
One of these, our U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg, stopped by at our most recent rally to cheer us on and to thank us for coming outside and speaking to the press about all the good that is being accomplished in Washington. He added, “Keep smiling, because WE HAVE THE TRUTH!”
The rallies in Niles, begun by my friend and coworker Carla Johnson of Buchanan, were and still are a counter to the negative protests against Tim Walberg at his Niles office. The Dems tried to not be identified as Democrats and kept changing their names, complaining first off about perceived cuts in Medicare and Social Security. Then they turned into the NO KINGS rallies. Funded by ActBlue and staffed by retired teachers and the Out Center of gays in Benton Harbor, they were out there with lying and hateful signs, trying to pile hate and dissension onto Tim Walberg. They also threatened Mr. Walberg, his assistant Lee Belding, and other officials with death. Since this followed assassination attempts on President Trump, and then the real thing on Charlie Kirk, Republican officials across the nation were told to not have their usual office hours and are staying out of the public limelight.
Carla and I are having none of that. Our God does not bow to fear! So with the desire to take the pressure off President Trump, Tim Walberg, Brad Paquette, Jonathan Lindsey, and others, we go out and wave to the traffic regardless. Results are overwhelmingly positive in favor, with lots of honks, waves, cheering, and smiles from those in the cars.
Carla and I also go on local television stations saying we are not a protest, but a positive support for Mr. Walberg, and the others. As to the NO KINGS, I went on to say it was ludicrous for the Dems to accuse President Trump of being a king, as he was doing just the opposite---taking power from a bloated and corrupt government and giving it back to the people!
We are out there at the old Rite-Aid every first and third Monday. Come and join us over
your lunch period!
